This course is wonderful for anyone looking to create a statement piece as shown. But it is also an excellent course to take if you want to take your trimming abilities to the next level. You will learn how to curl your quills and how to create wire struts, and you can then use this technique in any of your work with sinamay, jinsin, felt or crinoline as a dramatic trim.
We also learn how to create your own hairband in this course, which again is a very useful skill to know.
What you will need:
- Quills, at least three, but up to nine is great.
- Thread
- A scissors
- A Wire Cutters
- AĀ hair straighteners or a curling wand.
- Glue: a PVA glue, a clear all purpose glue like Bostik, and aĀ superglue.
- Cotton Covered Millinery Wire (heavy gauge)
- Ribbon to cover your band
- Acrylic Paint or nailĀ varnish to paint the wire struts.
