Jinsin is one of millinery's most dramatic fabrics. The results you get with it are so effectiveĀ and it is surprisingly easy to work with. Ā It comes in a range of different colours, and also sometimes in prints. This course will each you how to cut and prepare your fabric to make smaller shapes that can be built upon for drama.Ā
Don't be worried if you can't sew, I'm not a great sewer either, and I had no sewing experience when I started this career. I am completely self taught when it comes to using a needle and thread. Once you can hold a needle in your hand and understand that you will have to push it up and down through fabric, that's all you need to know to complete this course. You will improve as you go.
What you will need:
- Jinsin (at least half a metre)
- Needle and Thread
- A scissors
- A sewing machine preferably, to hem your edges, but glue will also work.
- An iron
- A Metal BandĀ
- A Double or Triple Halo Band
